Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America, divided in 3 main regions; the Pacific lowlands with volcanic range, the wet, cooler central highlands and the Caribbean lowlands. Surrounding these lakes and extending to their northwest along the rift valley of the Gulf of Fonseca are fertile lowland plains, with soil highly enriched by ash from nearby volcanoes of the central highlands. Nicaragua's abundance of biologically significant and unique ecosystems contributes to Mesoamerica's designation as a biodiversity hotspot. Nature
Nicaragua offers more than 200 volcanic structures, 24 volcanoes from which 7 are active right now. 17 Crateric Lagoons, being one the deepest place in Central America, countless rivers including the largest in Central America. Nicaragua has a wide assortment of landscapes such as mountains, hills, valleys, waterfalls, canyons, swamps and more.. With the multiple regions within Nicaragua comes the diversity of the Flora and Fauna species. On Pacific Coast of Nicaragua the Tropical Dry Forrest domains the land.  Most of the Flora and Fauna survives without the continuous abundance of water. Since the season is divided in 2, 6 month of rain and 6 month without rain.  The entire forest drops it’s leafs to preserve water and survive.  On the central mountains and volcanoes peak, you will find the Cloud Forrest. Clouds will pass on the tops leaving humidity that will allow exceptional vegetation and fauna. On the East Coast of Nicaragua you will find the Tropical Rain Forest. Tropical rainforests exhibit high levels of biodiversity. Around 40% to 75% of all biotic species are indigenous to the rainforests. Rainforests are home to half of all the living animal and plant species on the planet. Two-thirds of all flowering plants can be found in rainforests. A single hectare of rainforest may contain 42,000 different species of insect, up to 807 trees of 313 species and 1,500 species of higher plants. And Nicaragua has the 2 largest Tropical Rain forest reservations in Central America.

Nicaragua is a surf, fishing, sail, sun and sand destination with the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea as natural boarders. The Pacific Ocean offers sport fishing, hills that end on private beaches, sail trips, unforgettable swimming, surf and sunsets. The Caribbean coast with its perfect turquoise water and white sanded beaches are full of Coconut palm trees and unique coral reefs. History

History
Present-day Nicaragua is located south of the pre-Columbian culture areas of the Maya and the Aztec in Mexico and northern Central America. Three basic culture groups existed in pre-colonial Nicaragua, one on the Pacific coast, the other on the central highlands and the last on the Atlantic coast.  The first 2 where linguistically and culturally similar to the Aztec and the Maya, which indicates that they had migrated south from Mexico several centuries before the arrival of the Spanish. Pre-Columbian Indians spoke Pipil, which is closely related to Nahualt, the language of the Aztec. The culture and food of both populations were corn, squash, beans, tropical fruits, chili peppers, and avocados. And early version of Chocolate was drunk at ceremonial while Xolo Dogs and turkeys where raised and Iguanas, Pacas and fish where hunted for their meat.
The Caribbean lowlands where inhabited by tribes that migrated north from what it is now Colombia. The various dialects and languages in this area are related to Chibcha, spoken by groups in northern Colombia. Eastern Nicaragua's population today consisted of extended families or tribes such as Sumus and Miskitos. These tribes are the result of the English bringing African as slaves to Nicaragua. The Bawihka, who lived in northeast Nicaragua intermarried with runaway slaves from Britain's Caribbean possessions and the resulting population are the Miskitos. With their access to superior weapons began to expand its territory and push other indigenous groups into the interior such survivors are the Sumus.

Nicaragua has no Mayan or Aztec Pyramids, but has countless treasures left by the pre-Columbian Indians. You can find 2 colonial cities, the Pompeii of America, important battle fields for independence battle, facts of the war against the filibuster William Walker who was born in Nashville, Tennessee. The influence of the British and the Spanish in Nicaragua. Buccaneers and pirates invasions. Economical war for ruling the world commerce between France and USA by building and controlling an Inter Oceanic Canal  between the pacific and Atlantic ocean.  The Somoza Family Dictatorship which is the longest dictatorship in America. The war between Sandinistas and Contras which ended in the Iran Contras scandal on United States.  There is still so much to discover in Nicaragua.

Culture

Culture

Nicaragua today is an Multiethnic country.   Nicaragua offers pre-Columbian heritage from the Nahualt Indians who were influenced and have similarities with the Mayan and Aztec culture, language and believes. Miskito Indians merged from the combination of the Bawihka native Indians of Nicaragua with the runaway African slaves that the British brought to Nicaragua.  This African Roots with the native Nicaraguan Indians still have a strong influence on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. The Spanish colonial influence for more than 300 years from controlling and expanding their roots in Nicaragua.  Before and after World War I and II Nicaragua had a strong German settlement, especially in the northern mountains of Nicaragua. Our dances, songs, music, poetry, paintings, sculptures, legends, stories are all native or combined with a foreign culture.  Enjoy, learn and experience living with peasant and farmer in the rawest way by sharing their lives in Communal tourism. Our food is a combination of local native ingredients with European splash.  So many colors to taste, essences to breath, flavors to see, temperatures to feel, Nicaragua has no artificial ingredients but many senses to explore.
